Keyword Tools: Market Research











An investigation of keywords is essential for developing any online marketing project, whether you go to sell your own product or service or a third party, you make a website or launch an advertising campaign. If you do not know who or what people are looking for and for what purpose it does on the web, you will not succeed even though you try.

Within minutes and using the right tools, the Internet makes it easy to conduct market research through key words or search terms that people search for on Google.

To develop a project, first you must know that you are searching the Internet and from there build the project rather than the reverse: in a word: the wheel was invented and do not try to reinvent the wheel.

What tools can I use?

Google keyword Tool: this application, Google provides you with statistics known as: competition, global and local search trends for keywords that are entered manually in the search box of Google. If we consider that search engine that handles 80% of searches on the planet will have a notion of the importance of this tool

Google Trends: a tool Google Labs that shows the search terms with more popularity, segmented by year, month, even by region, country or language.

All this is shown graphically: a horizontal axis represents time, and the vertical axis represents the frequency with which the term has been sought globally. It also allows users to compare search volume between two or more terms.

The possibility of segmenting chronological, geographical and even seasonally is one of the strengths of Google Trends as a complement to the previous tool.

WordTracker: The free version of this tool allows you to enter a search term to generate initially over 100 keyword options related to the original term.

These are excellent tools with one exception, the results refer only to the United States, however it remains an important reference.
